The decree number 626 of 23/4/1987 has changed the Chambers of Commerce and Industry into Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. In 1996, the agricultural extension office was established in the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Zahle and the Bekaa (CCIAZ) with the support of the Chamber of Agriculture of "Oise" in France and the cooperation office of the French Embassy in Beirut within the “Support to agricultural development project in Lebanon”.
In 2008, the Services and Agricultural Development Department was established, and aims to serve the Bekaa economic community providing many programs, projects and services to farmers and business owners to seek professional development and raise the level of competitiveness.
The Department includes the following sections: 1 - Agricultural Extension office 2- Food Quality Center 3 - Agricultural accounting office 4 - Projects and research office 5 – Agricultural library |
